The new wedi Fundo standard Drain Cover features a heavy brushed stainless steel grate with square holes offering a look uniform with your tile works and leaving behind your personal design business card on all your wedi installations. It comes equipped with a stainless steel frame eliminating the standard PVC versions adding higher value to the finished look. As before we are including a height extension collar to allow for different thicknesses of tile or stone. The color of this extension part is a decent black that works well with the black color of the actual wedi drain. As you know, wedi Fundo shower floor systems can be tiled with tiles as small as 1/2" x 1/2" (use epoxy grout and epoxy thinset), 1" x 1" (use epoxy grout and standard modified thinset) or larger tile or stone with no maximum size limitation (cut tile where slope fields meet leaving space for your grout joint) using standard modified cement based grout and thinset. Using the height extender makes all thicknesses of tile or stone possible allowing you a 100% free choice of tile and design in your wedi showers which is unique in the market place. The new cover is not compatible with the older PVC frame and comes in not only the standard brushed stainless steel finish (close to a brushed nickel) but also in the following color options: Brass, Copper, Oil Rubbed Bronze.

If you want to opt for a completely different look or just add a very practical drainage system to especially ADA shower installations our Riolito Linear Drain Systems are the perfect choice. The drain and cover is fully integrated into their bases and thereby reliably waterproofed through the manufacturing process and not on site like with other systems sold in the market .Where conditions are often less than ideal for safely installing those important parts onsite wedi can give you the peace of mind you want to build your business on. The Riolito bases come in 3 x 5 ft , 4 x 5 ft 4 x 6 ft and can be cut to size like all wedi shower bases as long as the cuts do not interfere with the drain system location. All tile sizes can be used just like with wedi Fundo bases and the linear drain covers be adjusted to thickness of tile or stone chosen. The choice of drain cover finishes is yours: a tileable unit, a brushed heavy stainless steel or a polished stainless steel version complete a range that gives you the competitive edge and the latest trend look in your installation. The tileable linear cover can be tiled using epoxy thinset or waterproof construction glue. It is reversible and will accept tiles or stones from 1/4"" to 3/4" inch thickness. The brushed and heavy stainless steel cover and the polished stainless steel cover will work with tile or stone thicknesses ranging from 1/8" to 1/2"

Difference between you and your competitor who might have installed a project next door and will now not get all the other 10 homes in the neighborhood because you added value to your project and left a different and better signature on your installation. In this July Newsletter we want to show how wedi can support you in making a difference and how we constantly try to be a step ahead of our own competition through adding value and making a difference. 2 years ago we introduced linear drain channels in different finishes and fully integrated in our Riolito Shower bases to the market place. Ever since these design models enjoy a steep growth in customer demand and offer you an opportunity to differentiate yourself from the "standard shower drain cover" and its typical centered position. This typical standard drain cover is however still the common design way and wedi tried to give these standard covers a higher value and a more tile installation friendly design when introducing a 4 x 4 inches square stainless steel cover with PVC frame system 12 years ago. The intent was to upgrade the finish look and move away from the simple looks of cheaper metals found in most shower installation systems and offer a shape that would pay a tribute to the fact that most tiles used in showers are square. It makes only sense to integrate a square drain cover that allows for clean cuts or no cuts in your tile works at all. Now we have just added value to this older good standard by introducing a new heavy stainless steel grate in brushed finish resting in a stainless steel frame- still in the favorite 4 x 4 inches square shape.
